The DIN EN 60529 describes the protection categories of electrical equipment. The protection is ordered in IP-Classes (International Protection). Two numbers define the rate of protection. The first number represents the protection against foreign matter and the second number is the protection against water. The Entrysense wicket door switch meets fulfils the IP-Protection class 68. This means a complete protection against foreign matter and protection against continuous submersion.
Advantages of the Entrysense:
By intelligent connection of several reed contacts the entrysense fulfils the safety category II according to EN 954-1. During regular operation the voltage output of the Entrysense is 0V or 24V. If a malfunction of the Entrysense occurs the voltage output drops to 9V. This voltage signal is connected to the control system which has to be able to analyze the voltage levels. Regular wicket door switches are not able to signalize a failure and are therefore unsafe.
