OPTOCORD - Wireless Signal Transmission
OPTOCORD - Wireless Signal Transmission

Introduction

Beginning in the 4th Quarter of 2007, VITECTOR GmbH announced the unveiling of its wireless transmission device, OPTOCORD.

Application

Typically the safety signal from a sensing edge is transmitted via coil cord. This means of transmission is susceptible to wear and tear as the door cycles.

Signal Transmission without cable

The new OPTOCORD system sends the safety signal wirelessly from the sensing edge to the door controller. The OPTOCORD is two parts, the OPT-CM which is mounted on the door. The OPT-CF on the other hand is fixed on the frame and hard wired to the controller or operator. Power is supplied to the OPT-CM with batteries, but is only evaluated when the door is closing. Otherwise (during standstill and opening), the door mounted unit is disabled, thus saving battery life.
